“Retirement to me has
meant a chance to work with grassroots non-profits to help grow their revenues.
In moving back to beautiful
New Mexico from decades in Washington, D.C., I hope
to offer what I’ve learned from my years at
The Nature Conservancy, the National Trust, and
Feeding America.”
Chief Marketing, Membership and Philanthropy Officer
The Nature Conservancy / Arlington, VA
As a member of the Executive Team of a leading environmental organization and one of the top 20 charities in the United States in fundraising, I shared overall management responsibility for strategy, operations, board relations and finance with the president and four peers. I had specific responsibility for the private fundraising team that raised more than $400 million a year, a membership program of one million supporters, and a communications program that contributed to the Conservancy being named one of the most trusted nonprofits in America. A primary focus of my work was re-building the brand of the organization to align with research on how potential constituents viewed conservation work and to leverage that brand for revenue growth.
Chief Marketing Officer
National Trust for Historic Preservation / Washington, D.C.
The National Trust is a privately funded nonprofit organization, working to save America’s historic places. I managed the Trust’s marketing and key revenue generation functions including branding, membership, web and social media, public affairs, publications and corporate partnerships. My area of responsibility includes $12 million of annual revenue generation. I also serve on the President’s Executive Team. In my tenure here, I restored membership revenue growth, reversing a ten-year decline. Working with the board, partners and staff, I led a re-branding of the Trust to better position it for growth among a younger and more digitally-minded constituency. As part of the Executive Team, I played a key role in shaping the strategic direction of the Trust including its new signature program, National Treasures.

Feeding America / Chicago, IL
Feeding America is the nation's leading domestic hunger-relief charity. Its mission is to feed America's hungry through a nationwide network of member food banks and engage our country in the fight to end hunger. My role at Feeding America was to provide the financial resources to sustain the organization and to grow new financial resources to engage in innovative programs on behalf of our network of 206 food banks and their 63,000 affiliated agencies. I served on the organization’s Executive Team. In my last year at Feeding America, the organization reached the highest fundraising level in its history.
